Calendly Product Update – Dec 2024
Thank you being a part of the Calendly community and for sharing your valuable feedback throughout the year — it means the world to us! As the year winds down, it's the perfect time to reflect.
Here's a recap of Calendly customers' favorite releases from 2024:
A new and improved Calendly extension
It can take dozens of applications to get work done, and the constant switching between tabs and tools can take a toll on our time and focus. This year we majorly revamped Calendly’s extension so you can have one-click access to Calendly directly from Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and the Outlook desktop app. So whether you’re checking email, managing your CRM, or networking on LinkedIn, Calendly is right there when you need to schedule (and neatly tucked away when you don’t).
Don’t take our word for it, though. Our friends at Docusign, MessageDesk, and CI Assante Wealth Management swear by it, and so does Sarah from Beni:
“This makes it so easy to send Calendly links and schedule with my partners and prospects. I used to keep an extra tab open just for Calendly, and now I don’t need it. The extension is more convenient and more powerful.” — Sarah Pinner, Co-founder at Beni
Your contacts and schedule all in one place
Meetings are ultimately about relationships, and this year we added Contacts so you can quickly see details on who you’re meeting with, review your personal scheduling history, and book follow-up meetings directly from their profiles. You can also access your contacts via the Calendly extension and the mobile app — which is particularly handy for booking meetings on the go.
Here’s some feedback from one Contacts user: “Now I don’t need two systems open when booking meetings with clients as I can have all their information in one place. [And then I can use Contacts] to schedule more calls with these clients.”
More flexible ways to schedule meetings
Many of you shared that you needed to override existing meetings to prioritize your VIP meetings, mix and match host types so the right people are always “in the room,” and let teammates view and edit your events in Calendly. So now you have a few more ways to fine-tune your scheduling setup:
Open up more availability by allowing invitees to book over select meetings
Create your ideal host combo with updated Collective and Round Robin Event Types
Keep scheduling on track by including collaborators on Event Types
Improved reminder and follow-up Workflows
There’s a lot that goes into a great meeting experience beyond scheduling. Reminder texts and follow-up emails ensure everyone shows up (and on time!) and that relationships don’t end when you get off the call.
Calendly Workflows let you automate these messages before and after your meetings so work doesn't slip through the cracks. We improved these automations so you can share meeting updates with other teammates and add Workflows to all of your event types, including Collective and Round Robin events.
Expanded controls for Calendly admins
If you manage Calendly on behalf of your team, you now have more ways to keep everyone scheduling consistently and securely:
Standardize reminders and follow-ups across teams with Managed Workflows
Give teammates instant tool access when you set up Admin-Managed Zoom
Stay compliant and audit-ready with an email and SMS Communications Log
Integrations that meet you where you are
We know Calendly is just one tool in your tech stack, which is why we have over 100+ integrations and apps so you can schedule where you prefer to work. Whether you use Google or Microsoft products, manage a CRM or run a small business, you can simplify the way you work by connecting Calendly to your existing tools.
This year, a number of new and improved integrations rolled out — some of the highlights include:
HubSpot which now supports Calendly Routing with HubSpot look-up, so you can instantly look up, match, and schedule existing contacts with their account owner
New apps for Slack and Microsoft Teams, which now send you scheduling notifications right where you spend most of your time
More scheduling automations with Calendly + Zapier, including workflows to follow up with meeting "no-shows"
And we have to mention some of our most-loved partner-built integrations using Calendly’s APIs from this year, including Loom, Grammarly, and ON24.
That's a wrap on 2024! Keep an eye out for the next newsletter in January — we’ll be refreshing the format in 2025 and will continue to provide updates on Calendly's biggest releases and news.
